The Venezuelan musician, Alcides Rodríguez will perform at the Bolivarian Hall on July 22 at 7 p.m. He will be performing with musicians Aquiles Baez (guitar), Jackeline Rago (percussion) and Roberto Koch (Bass).
The Bolivarian Hall is located at 2443 Massachusetts Ave NW. Washington DC, 2008.
About the artist
Alcides began his musical training in Venezuela’s System of Youth Symphony Orchestras. Alcides Rodriguez was appointed bass clarinetist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2005. He received his Masters Degree in Music Performance from Northwestern University and a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Baylor University.
Alcides has an avid interest in the folk music and instruments of Venezuela. In 2005, he was featured with the Jacksonville Symphony performing the Concerto for Maracas and Orchestra by Ricardo Lorenz. In the summer of 2008, he was invited to perform the same concerto with the Orquestra Filarmónica de Minas Gerais in Brazil.

Harpist Leonard Jacome, musician of the recognized Venezuelan singer Reynaldo Armas, will perform with the ensemble Cuerdas bajo presión in the occasion of the concert series Venezuelan Sounds, on July 7, 8, 9, 11, 15 and 18 in several U.S. cities.

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United States cordially invites to the art exhibit “Same Three Different Roots” Juneteenth Celebration.
