The countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) manifest our most round rejection of the threats proffered by the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland against the integrity of the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador in London.

The declarations by spokespersons of the United Kingdom regarding the case of Julian Assange suggest that that government could violate the Vienna Convention on Privileges and Immunities and in doing so ignore its international obligations

The governments of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America, in manifesting our unfailing solidarity with the Republic of Ecuador, warn the government of the United Kingdom of the grave consequences that the execution of its threats would have for relations with our countries.

In order to evaluate this situation, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America has convened an extraordinary meeting of ministers to be held in the coming hours.
