The Presidential Commission for Control of Weapons, Munitions and Disarmament will hold a plenary session on Thursday, its ninth meeting so far, at the headquarters of Venezuela’s Ministry of the Interior and Justice as part of the initiatives developed to coordinate legal aspects and special measures for weapons control.
This series of meetings is aimed at fostering dialogue among the Presidential Commission for Control of Weapons, Munitions and Disarmament and religious institutions to gather proposals.
Representatives from several religious institutions will participate in the meeting, including the Ecumenical Association, the Evangelical Anglican and Presbyterian Churches, World Muslim League, Maronite Lebanese Order of Venezuela, Israeli Conference of Venezuela, Hare Krishna Civil Association of Venezuela, Episcopal Conference, Jesus The Lord Laic Community, Marist Brothers and Sisters, Salesian Association, Jesuit Association, Carmelite Association, Redeeming Association, Buddhists of Venezuela, among others.
The commission frequently hosts this kind of meeting with different sectors of Venezuelan society to create solutions to violence related to firearms and munitions.
