Kuchar, has served as Artistic Director and Chief of two of the major European orchestras, the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra (Czech Republic) and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He also served as artistic director of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and served as Artistic Director of Chamber Music Festival in Nevada. He was also Resident Director of the Kent / Blossom Music Festival, the school established by the late composer and conductor George Szell in collaboration with the Cleveland Orchestra. He also serves as Music Director of the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra (California) and the Chamber Orchestra of Reno (Nevada).
The American maestro studied violin and viola. He graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music (Ohio) and began his career as principal violist of orchestras in Cleveland and Helsinki, Finland.
His First Appearance with the OSV
Kuchar’s first presentation with the OSV was on February 6 in the Aula Magna of the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas.
The maestro, one of the most recognized conductors worldwide, will lead a new season of concerts with a repertoire including Venezuelan pieces and other works by leading composers in the world.
Additionally, the Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela will continue undertaking projects that will enable them to have close links to the community. Its members are outstanding young musicians and teachers that will be responsible for pursuing various artistic and managerial projects which aim to further consolidate the orchestra as a pioneer and dean of symphony orchestras in the country. These include: The OSV at my school, the OSV in the community, Chamber Music Series, new discography and documentaries, as well as a composition contest.
