Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) will employ over 1,500 voting machines nationwide in permanent and itinerant points as part of the Electoral Fair created to promote voting for the coming September 26 parliamentary elections, said Socorro Hernández, main rector of the CNE on Thursday.
Hernández highlighted that the 1,500 voting machines will be distributed in itinerant points located in each region of the country starting on August 31, when the CNE’s Electoral Fair begins. She explained that the distribution of the machines is part of the National Plan for Popular Contact with Electoral Technology.
Hernández said that the voting machines will be located in permanent points in the 24 states of the country, while the itinerant points will work to rotate the voting machines to hard-to-access or far-way areas such as indigenous communities.
