Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

With the detention of  GLORIA ESTHER CHÁVEZ CEBALLOS, also known as Gloria Amparo, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela reaffirms its fight against drug trafficking and  organized crime.

This Colombian citizen was a member of the international criminal organization called “Los Indios” (The Indians), devoted to the traffic of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from Colombia towards the Caribbean and then to Europe.

The strategy of the officers of the Corps of Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigation (CICPC) led to the capture of the drug dealer, carried out in the Andean city of San Cristobal, Táchira state, along the border with Colombia.  Esther Chávez is wanted by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Thirteen drug dealers, including this one, have been captured in Venezuela in 2010; eight of them Colombians. This serves as evidence of the commitment of the Venezuelan government in fighting this scourge.

This means that 60 percent of the drug lords captured in Venezuela come from Colombia. Our country is victim of these criminal organizations that provoke vice and corruption, negatively affecting our population.

Thus, the revolutionary and Bolivarian government, led by President Hugo Chávez Frías, ratifies that this fight must be reinforced in the producer countries as well as in those that register the highest consumption rates. Venezuela has shown that it is one of the countries leading the fight against drug trafficking.
